So this week I wanted to do a piece that was a non human, and as a owner of one of the first imports of pikachu dolls, I couldn’t help but draw the fuzzy electric mouse. I wanted to do a realistic version, using a real mouse as the model for the position and gestures of Pikachu. I chose the more well know Pikachu from the TV show verses the manga for his love of ketchup. (Also because I have only read a few chapters of the manga) The biggest challenge was both giving him the sense of real fur and also a happy look while he tries to eat the ketchup out of the bottle. No matter what it seems cute. This piece took 2 1/2 hours of work in all and was done completely in Manga Studio 5 ex.
